Abundant Life Pledge Card

Giving to the church consists of Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness. This online commitment card has two sections for your 2024 pledge. The first section is for you to enter your financial pledge for 2024. In the second section, you may choose from a variety of ways to invest your time and service in the life of TUMC Austin, the local community, and beyond.

Gifts may be made by cash, check, recurring electronic payments, or through online giving on our website at www.tumc.gives and selecting “Abundant Life” from the drop-down menu. Checks should indicate “Abundant Life” on the memo line for payments to be applied to your pledge. Please contact Vicki Aycock at vaycock@tumc.church with any questions.

Your financial contributions are considered confidential information. This portion of your pledge card will be separated from your service commitment and kept securely in the business office.

2024 Service Commitment

When the very first churches worshiped together, the church was not a building. It was a movement made up of God’s people who hosted gatherings, visited the sick, and cared for those experiencing hunger and poverty. This was in accordance with Christ’s command that his people should love God and neighbor. Following Jesus's call, founder of the early Methodist movement John Wesley taught us to grow in our faith by “doing good of every possible sort, and, as far as possible, to all.” Wesley himself preached outside of buildings, riding throughout Britain preaching at worksites to those who would not take off Sunday mornings to attend a service.

We have come a long way since those days, but the church’s foundation still rests on Christ’s body. We might be lucky enough to have buildings, but, as it was in the beginning, the church is still its people. As the body of Christ, the church is a community of diverse persons with unique gifts and graces that is governed by Jesus Christ. And when you invest your time serving the church, the spiritual returns are rich and abundant.
